Marie Martens - Slide guitar/guitar and vocals is no newbie when it comes to playing blues, touring Scandinavia/Germany /England and Japan before relocating to the US. Here she is leading her own four piece band, the Messarounds, playing original blues as well as covering blues legends from Hound Dog Taylor, Elmore James, Mississippi Fred McDowell to Slim Harpo and Magic Sam. Sometimes mixed with some roots and Louisiana grooves.
The Messarounds' mixture of added percussion to the guitar/ bass/drums gives the band that extra spice to both sound and stage performance.

Swedish born and raised Marie Martens takes the intensity and feeling of blues and various rock n roll and roots music to a new level.
With the help of a slide and a wah-wah she enhances the experience of funky groves to swamp pop to rock ‘n’ roll and of course that always present deep blues.
Marie has also a long history of playing bass and guitar with various bands and styles of music and has recorded and toured around Europe, Asia with some of Sweden’s greatest blues and rock artists.
Marie is now based in South East Wisconsin Mainly working as a front person in her own band the Messarounds but on occasion picking up a bass and playing with some of Chicago’s great artists doing some 120+ gigs yearly.
